The good news
On Pixel devices, no manufacturer-specific extra step is required. The standard battery optimisation exemption that the Kidlyoo setup wizard sets up is enough.
What the wizard already did
During first-time setup, Kidlyoo will have asked for and confirmed:
- Accessibility permission for the Watchdog
- Usage Access permission for the fallback poller
- Battery optimisation exemption
- Optional: Kidlyoo as your Home app
If any of those is still missing, open Kidlyoo and the dashboard will show a red banner with a one-tap fix.
Generic Android (non-Pixel) phones
If your phone isn't Samsung, Xiaomi, Huawei, Oppo, OnePlus, Realme or Vivo, look in Settings - Battery - App standby / App background management for an "exempt" or "no restrictions" option for Kidlyoo. If you can't find it, email us with your phone model and we'll add it to this list.
